The simplest way to get to the University from the airport is taking a taxi. Please ask the taxi driver to take you to the “National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei” or simply show the taxi driver the following:

The taxi journey costs approximately NT$1000 and takes one hour or so to arrive at the main gate of the University.

Option 2

Alternatively, you can use public transport to get to the University.

First, at the airport (TPE), you can get on the Kuo-Kuang Bus (Number 1819) for Taipei Railway Station. The bus ticket can be bought at the Arrival Passenger Reception either in Terminal 1 or in Terminal 2. The bus journey takes approximately one hour and costs NT$125 for a single ticket, or NT$230 for return tickets.

After arriving at the Taipei Railway Station, find the entrance of the Metro station (aka. MRT station), which is located inside the Taipei Railway Station building. Enter the Metro station, find the Xinyi Line (the red line) and get on a train with the final destination “Xiangshan” shown on the train. Note that you must transfer at the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station, where you walk to the opposite side of the platform and find the Xindian Line (the green line), and get on a train with the final destination “Xindian” shown on the train. (Note: do not get on a train showing “Taipower” as the final destination.) Get off the train at the Gongguan Station. It takes approximately 30 minutes and costs NT$20 for the entire MRT journey (or NT$16 if using an EasyCard for payment). Leave the Gongguan station from Exit 2. To the left of the exit is a side entrance of the National Taiwan University campus. Go through that campus following the directions shown below – this will take 15 minutes or so by walking.
