Master's program

About the program

Credit Requirement

The minimum and maximum periods of study for master’s program must be one to four years. Our Master of Science (MSc) degree program for Color and illumination technologies and Artificial intelligence applications (for more details see our research directions) requires at least 24 credits, in addition to writing a Master Thesis. At least 3 of the Basic Courses shown below are required to take, and at least 18 credits of courses provided by the Institute need to be taken. Students usually finish this program within two years but may extend up to another two years for acceptable reasons.

Academic Research Ethics Course

Students should complete the course before the end of the first academic year. Students can apply for the examination of degree only after they pass the course.

Graduate Thesis Title Application and Review (Applicable to Students Enrolled from Academic Year 112)

In compliance with the university's regulations, all graduate students must submit their thesis topics and research objectives to the department for review before the course add/drop deadline for the semester of their designated degree examination to confirm whether they are in line with the department's professional field. Those who fail to submit for departmental review within the specified deadline will not be eligible to apply for the degree examination.

Application Period: Before the deadline for credit exemption applications each semester (please pay attention to the department's website announcements and email notifications for the exact dates).

Thesis/Dissertation Similarity Checking (Turnitin system)

Starting from 111th academic year (year 2022), graduate students shall submit the Thesis/Dissertation to "Turnitin checker " (Library System: please click in) before the degree exam and obtain the approval from the advisor and Department. Please submit the Similarity Checking Report along with the signed Form of Academic Ethics and Authentication of Originality Statement to the Department "before" the defense application.

Requirements:

The thesis's similarity index must be below 20%
